Show Name: “Against All Odds”

A just turned double digit Dark Bay TB Gelding!

Horatio was purchased in 2005 and didn’t know how to jump. But that didn’t bother us at all. His main attraction to being added to the Longacres fleet was his extremely calm nature for being such a young TB. He loves people almost more than horses it seems. We knew this would make him easy to train. He took to jumping in no time and just always seems to be saying "What do you want me to do? Should I do more?!" He has natural form to make him a great hunter. We are anxious to see how he excels in shows as he continues to be polished up!

Horatio is the most talented horse that Longacres owns. He has amazing scope and a great personality. He will jump anything he's pointed at unless it's truly a horrendous approach. He almost never knocks rails, and if he does it is completely the rider's fault (at least with me). My mom and I, who took him home after the 2009 season, agree that he's a puppy dog. When we go up to him in the field and call his name, he trots right up and puts his head under the arm of whoever goes out to get him. He is always willing to work, but is definitely excitable when jumping. He lives to jump, and seems to really enjoy it. Horatio is my favorite Longacres horse.

Though I only rode Horatio a few times, he was a perfect gentleman and

quite sweet. Horatio was very good on the "Trail Ride Through Hell"

when an unexpected thunderstorm rolled in the middle of a ride around the property. He was much calmer than many of the other horses. Hoho is a really pretty thoroughbred, like many of the horses at Longacres.

Horatio, also called Ho-Ho, is a lovable horse that can be a bit spazzy sometimes. He tries very hard but still has an unusual jumping style, hopping high over jumps sometimes. He is also very sweet and loving but doesn't like new kinds of treats unless somebody licks them first... ~submitted by Jr.Co. Emmy with input from campers during the summer of 2006
