bridge "A" - looking upstream with barn to left; my left hand is on the marker board for 18'6" spam. My right hand is pointing at the tree very close by. The tree roots grow throughout the likely buttment area. This will be hard digging. My left foot is on solid ground, but water flow close by. This bridge would profit from rock piles as diversion dams on each side. There are LOTS of suitable rocks within steps.

bridge "A", looking upstream, house to the right. My right hand is on the 18'6" span marker. You can see the erosion in this area from high water. Rock protection would be very beneficial here. No signidicant tree roots or other digging obstructions.

bridge "B" - downstream is to the left - I am on the house side of the stream. The marker board is at the 26' span point. My original information to you calling it a 24' span is from water's edge to water's edge. Ground is solid, digging straight forward on both sides.

another picture looking upstream with me at the same place as the previous picture.

looking towards the barn at bridge "B" site. Marker board is at the 26' span spot. The creek makes a bend at this spot, with the side of the creek in this picture to the outside of the bend, hence most subject to erosion and storm waters.

Here I am standing in the middle of the creek (bridge "B"). At my feet is the marker board and a small log at the 18'6" span spot, if we build an abuttment part way out into the creek from the spot where the camera is located. Possibly a very good idea, since this would be a much more mangeable span and the projection into the creek here would be on the inside of the bend in the creek and out of the direct path of the current.

Tom standing over a line of rocks symbolic of a stone diversion wall protecting the abuttment at an 18'6" span.

bridge "C" on side towards dining hall. Span is 14' at this point, solid ground, no special digging problems. THis bridge has shortest span and most straight forward abuttment situation.

bridge "C" on the side towards the barn. My hand is at the 14' span position.
